Buy Cheap at Farmer's Market

In Malta, you have to go everywhere to get everything. There is no one place that has everything you want. Or maybe I am too picky. We went on to check out Farmer's Market for cheap and fresh fruits and vegetables.

When? There is a farmer's market at Ta Qali on every Tuesday and Saturday morning. As the name explains itself, farmers will bring their own crops and sell here. It is an open space where tents are set up neatly in rows. Remember, all the products there are fresh.

Take note that if you are driving there, along the way to this market, you will see some other fruits and vegetables trucks as well. Do not be misled that that is the market. According to information from local, the trucks, that are seen on the way to the farmer's market, do not carry all local crops. They will carry imported fruits and vegetables as well. They tend to be a little pricier as well. The fruits and vegetables are very cheap at the market, as there is no middleman selling them.

How cheap? 2 long cucumber for 1Euro. 1 melon for less than 2 Euros. Eggplants selling at 0.50 or 1 Euro. Basically, with the least money, you can buy the maximum stuff.

What are there? There are about 3 rows of tents, all selling fruits and vegetables. However we spotted a fish stall though. There is a snack selling stall that sells bebbux(snails). It was a pretty hot selling items, where people takeaway 3 boxes at one go. We had a plate to try to. It was good, and economical. I saw a uncle dipping his bread away in the sauce of the bebbux.

Time? If you have time, do go and take a look. Oh do not go too early and stalls are not set up yet. 10am is a good time.
